Lorraine Lapsley
| Trainee information | I am seeking a summer placement within a criminal law and human rights environment with a view to securing a traineeship commencing in 2012. I am currently undertaking honours year of the LLB, having initially began the accelerated LLB programme, following receipt of a BA Law degree from Napier University, Edinburgh. Throughout both my law degrees I have studied a wide variety of subjects which have given me a sound understanding of both law and societal issues. I am ambitious, friendly and highly organised with strong analytical skills. My enthusiasm for both law and empowering individuals was confirmed through my experience as a student advisor within the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic both as a representative of individuals in actual cases and through my involvement with the Prisons Project which aims to decrease re-offending rates by giving youth offenders the knowledge to make informed choices. Both roles have given me a unique insight into the challenging and high pressure role of representing members of the public. During this role I am able to use the effective communication and strong interpersonal skills I have developed in my previous work experience, particularly my role as a training officer and supervisor of a busy public house. |
