Seminar Details The TANQ Summer Social event will be held on 4th July. This will be an informal evening where three distinguished panel members will share the benefit of their experiences in the legal profession in a question and answer session. The panel discussion will be followed by a buffet and refreshments and a chance to network and socialise. Have your questions ready for the panel - this is an interactive event and is an opportunity to find out all you ever wanted to know about the highs and lows of practicing law!
The TANQ Social will also qualify for 1 hour TCPD/CPD time.

Panel Members -

Sheriff Ken Mitchell - Sheriff Mitchell practiced as a solicitor from 1972-78, was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1979 and has been a Sheriff of Glasgow and Strathkelvin since 1985. He has been a member of the Judicial Studies Committee since 2005. He has also been heavily involved in Glasgow Sheriff Court personal injuries court pilot.

Professor Robert Rennie - Professor Robert Rennie is a Partner in Harper Macleod's Real Estate department. He has extensive experience in relation to all forms of property law work and also vast experience in professional negligence as it affects legal practice. In 1993 he took up the prestigious part-time post of Professor of Conveyancing at the University of Glasgow. Since then, in addition to maintaining a busy legal practice, he has been a prolific author of articles and textbooks on property law and negligence matters such as Conveyancing, Missives, the Execution of Deeds, Solicitors' Negligence, the Law of Minerals, Standard Securities, Land Tenure following the abolition of the feudal system, and more recently, on Electronic Conveyancing.
Professor Rennie has been at the forefront of many of the most recent far reaching reforms of property law introduced by the Scottish Parliament being a member of the Scottish Law Commission Working Parties on the Abolition of the Feudal System, Title Conditions, Tenements, Leasehold Tenure and the law relating to the Seabed and Foreshore. He is the General Editor of Green's Conveyancing Legislation and has been a member of the Law Society of Scotland's Conveyancing Committee for over fifteen years.

David Beveridge - David joined Macdonald Henderson in 2005 and led a buyout of the practice in early 2009, becoming one of Scotland's youngest managing partners in the process. Specialising in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, shareholder matters and general corporate advisory work, he is featured in CA's "Who's Who in Corporate Law?" and has been recognised in several Scottish legal industry award categories, including Rising Star, Corporate Lawyer of the Year and Managing Partner of the Year. David is Company Secretary of the Entrepreneurial Exchange.
