Expert Witnesses and their Contribution to Solicitors' Practice

Seminar Details The seminar will discuss the latest issues affecting expert witnesses and those solicitors instructing them and will cover the various prospective changes likely to be brought in by the Gill Review and the Taylor Costs Review as well as the implications for expert witnesses in light of the Supreme Court's recent decision of Jones v Kaney.
The talk will also seek to introduce the Expert Witness Institute ( EWI) to future potential expert witnesses in Scotland.
The EWI was launched in November 1996 to support and service expert witnessesand has a multi-disciplinary membership from all over the UK and further afield. It acts as a very effective voice for the expert witness community supporting experts from all professional disciplines and lawyers who use the services of experts.

The speaker, Dr Harry Brünjes, initially graduated from London University and then qualified in medicine at Guy’s Hospital. The Premier Medical Group developed from his Harley Street practice in 1995. There was an initial period of organic growth, followed by an acquisition strategy which culminated in a trade sale to Capita in 2010, with Harry remaining as Chairman of Premier Medical Group. He is also Group Medical Director of Capita, Non-Executive Director of The Good Care Group and Chairman of Woodsta Investments.
Harry is Chairman of Lancing College, Vice-President of the College of Medicine and a Board member of the Expert Witness Institute, Valderrama Golf Club and the English National Opera.
