Seminar Details This talk will review and explain the complex structure of football organisations and how the various bodies regulate player registration and the terms and determination of disputes in relation to the contracts of employment of professional footballers.
Rod McKenzie is one of the founding partners of Harper Macleod LLP and is its Senior Partner. He has a broad based commercial litigation practice as well as specialities in Sports Law and Gambling Law. In the Sports Law field he is the principal solicitor to the Scottish Premier League and acts or has acted for eight of the current SPL clubs in relation to various legal matters. In addition he has acted for a number of clubs in the Scottish Football League as well as in England. He has acted in various cases before the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, the Court of Arbitration of Sport and the EUFA Disciplinary Bodies. He has involvement in negotiation and drafting of broadcasting and sponsorship contracts. He is a Judicial Officer of the International Rugby Board and the European Rugby Cup and a Disciplinary Chairman in the Six Nations.
