Seminar Details The ever expanding legislative framework in which lawyers work changes in many ways. Drafting styles have evolved and the principles applied by courts need to be understood. This seminar will provide a review of the essential legal skill of understanding and interpreting legislation. Professor Gerry Maher QC was appointed Professor of Criminal Law in 2000. He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1987 and was a practising Advocate from 1989 to 1992. He was a full-time Commissioner at the Scottish Law Commission from 2000 to September 2008. His main research interests are criminal law and criminal process, international private law, legal process, and debt and diligence.
