Seminar Details In recent years Donald has had occasion to give many opinions on the adequacy or otherwise of a solicitor’s performance in complying with the CML Handbook and other lender instructions. He will look at common areas of risk in this regard, illustrating from actual cases and seek to draw useful lessons for practice including the important distinction between the general duty of care and contractual obligation. Donald Reid is a partner in Mitchells Roberton. In 1997 he was appointed Chairman of the firm. He has practised extensively, though not exclusively, in the field of conveyancing and property law, both residential and commercial. He was tutor, and latterly senior tutor and lecturer, in the Diploma in Legal Practice with the University of Glasgow from 1980 to 1999. He lectures widely and frequently to the legal profession on conveyancing and property-related topics and is frequently called upon to give opinions or reports on the conveyancing aspects of disputes and litigations.
