Seminar Details This seminar will provide an overview and up-date on the law and practice relating recovering the Proceeds of Crime and will cover the following -
(a) Proceeds of Crime Act cases (both pre court preparation and the court process);
(b) Developments in the POCA approach;
(c) The future?
Lesley Thomson is a Solicitor and currently Area Procurator Fiscal for Glasgow and Strathkelvin. She graduated from Glasgow University in 1979 and has spent the past 25 years in the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. She was formerly Head of the Financial Crime Unit at Crown Office; District Procurator Fiscal in Selkirk and Edinburgh; and Interim Area Procurator Fiscal, Lothian & Borders before she took up her current post in Glasgow in May 2008. Lesley has over the years specialised in serious crime including fraud and proceeds of crime legislation and in 1999 authored a textbook on Criminal Confiscation.
