Speaker Judge John Macdonald (Immigration Judge) and Nicola Loughran (Loughran & Co. Solicitors)
Seminar Details The two speakers for this seminar will provide an update on immigration law including an appraisal of developments in asylum and the human rights aspects of immigration.
Nicola Loughran has been practising immigration and asylum law for 12 years in Scotland. She opened her own firm in 2010 specialising in immigration and asylum law. She sits on the Law Society's Accreditation Panel for immigration law. Judge Macdonald was appointed a part-time Adjudicator in October 1998 and became a full-time Adjudicator in August 2002. He is now a Designated Judge of the First-tier Tribunal and a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal. For many years John has been involved in the training of judges. He prepared a number of training materials including Settlement – Children and Adoption; Expert Evidence; Article 8 ECHR; and Documentation and Forgery.
