On the Eve of Civil Revolution
Date 16/01/2014
Speaker Sheriff Kenneth Mitchell
Seminar Details Sheriff Mitchell will principally address the fundamental changes which will flow from Lord President Gill's recommendations as to case management, which reverse the traditional non-interventional stance of the judge and require pleaders to be active in focussing the issues in dispute. He will also touch on some aspects of proper presentation in oral pleading.
Sheriff Mitchell has been a sheriff in Glasgow since 1985. He has been the senior sheriff in Glasgow since January 2010. He served as a member of the Council of The Sheriffs’ Association (1998-2001); the Glasgow Sheriff Court Standing Advisory Committee (1997-2000); and the National Council of Victim Support Scotland (2001-2003).
