Seminar Details The seminar will dispute resolution, and consider what the future holds for the “traditional litigator”. With change in the Court of Session imminent, with consequences for the Sheriff Court, how should practitioners respond? And what is happening with arbitration and mediation? Finally John will look at perhaps the greatest threat to the traditional litigator – online dispute resolution – and consider how the profession will need to adapt.

An experienced Solicitor Advocate, John deals with a range of commercial litigation matters and has particular expertise in intellectual property and IT disputes. As well as appearing before the Court of Session and Inner House, John advises clients in relation to IP portfolio management and in particular online brand protection. John has experience in acting for clients from a variety of sectors, UK-wide, including energy and utilities, banking, IT and manufacturing. He is accredited as a specialist in Intellectual Property Law by the Law Society of Scotland and sits on the Lord President's Consultative Committee on Commercial Actions in the Court of Session.
